Dr. Rafael Z. Frantz holds a PhD in Technology and Software Engineering from the University of Seville, Spain. He has five years of experience as a software development consultant within Brazilian industry and co-founded a Spanish start-up specialising in enterprise systems integration. He currently serves as a Professor at UNIJUI University, Brazil, where he lectures on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and has supervised over 42 master’s and doctoral students. He has authored more than 130 scientific publications, including 48 articles in international journals. He maintains a robust record of international collaboration with institutions in the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Colombia, and Brazil. His current research interests encompass interoperability frameworks, enterprise application integration, decentralised digital identity systems, and secure data infrastructures. These initiatives aim to advance sustainable smart city ecosystems through privacy-enhancing technologies and resilient software architectures. He leads the Applied Computing Research Group (www.GCA.unijui.edu.br) at UNIJUI.
