Maria Teresa Baldassarre is an Associate Professor of Software Engineering at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy, where she leads research within the Software Engineering Research Laboratory (SERLAB). She received the Laurea degree (Hons.) and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Bari. Her research interests are in empirical software engineering (ESE), with a particular focus on software quality measurement, the engineering of trustworthy AI systems, and the human factors influencing developer productivity. Her work extensively investigates the socio-psychological dimensions of software teams, including the impact of the impostor phenomenon, gender diversity, and soft skills on the developer experience (DevEx). Dr. Baldassarre is a founding partner of SER&Practices, a spin-off company of the University of Bari. She is a member of the International Software Engineering Research Network (ISERN) and has held leadership roles within the Project Management Institute (PMI) Southern Italy Chapter. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and frequently serves on the program committees of premier conferences, including ICSE, ESEM, and ICSME. She serves as an Editorial Board member and Co-Chair of Registered Reports for the Empirical Software Engineering (EMSE) journal, and is an Editorial Board member for the Information and Software Technology (IST) journal.
