Mahdi Ansari is a software engineering researcher at the University of Calgary. His work uses artificial intelligence, with a focus on natural language processing and machine learning, to support software development. He studies component-based software development and developer-support tools, examining how developers express requirements and concerns in natural language and turning those signals into evidence for component selection and quality assessment.
He recently earned his Ph.D. in Software Engineering from the University of Calgary. His dissertation, “Avoiding Mistakes with Component Selection in Requirements Engineering,” investigates AI-assisted methods for selecting software components.
