Juliana Herbert is a Professor and researcher at the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA). She works in the Postgraduate Program in Information Technologies and Health Management (PPGTIGSaúde) as an effective professor and member of the Coordinating Committee. She also works in the undergraduate course in Biomedical Informatics, as responsible for the courses on Software Engineering and Project Management. She conducts research and extension projects in the areas of Biomedical Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Interaction Design in Health. She completed her doctorate in March 2000 and her master’s degree in November 1995, both in Computer Science, focusing on Software Validation and Verification, in the Post-Graduate Program in Computer Science, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGC-UFRGS). She is an associate researcher in the Informatics area of the Basic Sciences Development Program (PEDEClBA-Informática) of the Universidad de la República in Montevideo, Uruguay, acting as a master’s and doctoral advisor. Juliana is also a Space for Women (S4W) network member. She has worked in software development projects, as a Senior Consultant in process management, validation and verification of software, in projects involving companies from Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, Portugal and the United States.
