Hüseyin Özgür Kamali is a senior Software Engineering student at Ankara University, where he ranks 3rd in his cohort with a 3.67 GPA. He notably ranked in the top 0.8% among over 3 million candidates in the 2022 National University Entrance Exam. With over 3.5 years of research experience across various computer science fields, he currently serves as an Undergraduate Researcher within the BILSEN Research Group at Bilkent University under the supervision of Prof. Eray Tüzün. His research interests include AI/ML for Software Engineering, Empirical Software Engineering, and Software Quality Assurance.
My current research is featured at ICSE 2026, where I present work on “Agentic Code Review” that examines how AI agents can be utilized in and transform code review processes; a longer journal version of this vision is currently under preparation. My work also includes a study on fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) to classify pull request-issue alignments to improve traceability and consistency in software repositories; as part of the empirical evaluation of this tool, I am currently conducting an industrial case study within a corporation to assess its performance in practice. I have also contributed to the preparation of successful research proposals funded by TUBITAK (Turkish equivalent of the U.S. NSF).
Following my graduation in June 2026, I am seeking Ph.D. opportunities starting in Fall 2027 to pursue research in the field of Software Engineering. I welcome inquiries and discussions regarding potential research collaborations or doctoral positions and can be reached at ozgurkamaliprofessional@gmail.com.
