Al is a Software Engineering Researcher currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan under the supervision of Dr. Chanchal Roy. His research focuses on improving open science practices in software engineering research, particularly in the areas of executability, reproducibility, and replicability. Through his work, he empirically investigates the challenges and common pain points that hinder transparent and reusable research artifacts, and develops evidence-based insights, actionable guidelines and automated support to improve the trustworthiness of software engineering research.
Alongside his research, Al is an experienced Software Developer with over seven years of industry experience specializing in full-stack development. He currently works as a Full Stack Developer (Intern) at Hilltop Partner Network. His work focuses on building scalable backend services, secure authentication systems, and responsive user interfaces. Before starting his graduate studies, he served as a Software Technical Lead at Enosis Solutions, delivering scalable solutions for diverse business needs, making architectural decisions and mentoring junior developers. Alongside his commitment to research and academic growth, he remains passionate about software development and strives to apply both his academic insight and industry experience to advance innovation and excellence in software engineering.
Outside work, Al also enjoys playing soccer and table tennis, exploring photography, listening to music, and watching anime.
